Rinpoche has named these two projects as Wamlung Norbulingka Buddhist Library and Sambhota Buddhist Institute. Rinpoche has decided to locate these projects in the town of Nangchen for several reasons. The present Dharma classes conducted in Wamlung Monastery in Ka-xiong village, which is two days journey by horse and a day’s journey by jeep from Nangchen, has attracted many students from around the area and has been very successful. But due to its location and lack of facilities, it is unfeasible for expansion. The town of Nangchen has better facilities like transport and power suppliers and a larger population. Not only will the building cost be cheaper here, cost of living and cost of maintenance in future will be much cheaper too. Despite all these, Nangchen does now have either a proper Buddhist Library or Institute for higher learning.
With the right conditions, it is also Rinpoche’s earnest wish to build a retreat center in Nepal in future thus fulfilling his wish to plant the seed of Dharma in the heart of everyone far and wide. The fact that Rinpoche has shouldered so many responsibilities is because of his past vows and aspiration to benefit all sentient beings.
